"Between easy and uneasy listening."
Golden Dark was born out of the serendipitous meeting of two musical nonconformists - David John Hull and Elo Masing - who had been feeling their way through seemingly radically different musical traditions: psychedelic folk and experimental music. Finding their way around uncharted territories they stumbled upon some strikingly original material, resulting in what may even be construed as a new genre - subconscious songs. They are now continuing their journey through the unexplored together with the Portuguese music mafia, fusing melancholy irony, intensely charged eroticism and at times over-the-top theatrical cheekiness in the clashing of two states of mind - knowing and not knowing - creating a strange melange that cannot leave the listener untouched.
